The Los Angeles Rams don’t only need to address the areas they are weak in during the 2018 NFL Draft, absolutely not. Instead, the team can turn the focus to making something they are already great at even better: rushing the quarterback.

The Philadelphia Eagles set the precedent for a front line, creating an eight-man rotation on their defensive line that kept quarterbacks nervous all season. Although the New England Patriots were able to weather the storm, the defensive line gave the Eagles the eventual game-winning strip sack.

The Rams can attempt to duplicate this, bringing in defensive end Kylie Fitts out of Utah. At six-foot-four and 260 pounds, Fitts is a machine of pure strength that can thrive at getting to the quarterback at the NFL level.

A projected 4.84 40-yard dash time shows how fast he can be for his size. However, despite his pure talent and athleticism, Fitts is overlooked in an otherwise good defensive end class.

Walter Football ranked Fitts as the 25th best defensive end option in the draft, which is fair, considering he missed nearly all of 2016 due to injury and only played eight games in 2017. That injury history is concerning.

However, it is undeniable that Fitts has the tools to take that next step and there may be no better fit than the Los Angeles Rams. LA can ease Fitts into snaps with a defensive line rotation, eventually giving him more and more playing time to prove his worth.
