They don’t need another way too calm kind of guy

Sheesh, who are they kidding?

If the Los Angeles Lakers really signed Kawhi Leonard at this point in time, they actually run the risk of getting a lesser version of Lonzo Ball. The meek personality matches, obviously, but the fact of the matter is that Leonard isn’t going to be a leader that this team might be looking for at that point if Ball, Ingram, and Kuzma can’t figure things out.

In addition to that, I see Leonard as the last kind of possible player that I’d want on my team to be able to navigate the commentary coming from LaVar Ball. Lonzo hasn’t always handled it the best, but in the long run, it’s really up to him to stand up for the team, depending on situation and how Lonzo personally feels.

If Leonard comes to the Lakers, the expectation of speaking up when LaVar Ball might say something construed as divisive to the locker room is going to be there. I don’t think he can handle that type of pressure, and his most recent season in San Antonio proves that point.

He doesn’t like to be confrontational or really aggressive verbally at all, and that will completely throw the chemistry of the young Lakers for a loop.

I would also go as far as to say that he’s not even the type of talent that the Lakers want. If they get their wish list with guys like Paul George or LeBron James, they’re going to get a completely different type of superstar player.

I am not convinced that Kawhi Leonard could actually be that much of a difference maker in Los Angeles, especially when you consider the fact that a new environment may be too much for him to actually translate his game in the most efficient manner.
