Dodgers Roundtable: The Start of Spring Training
Get ready, Dodger fans, Spring Training is finally here. This week, we look forward to the first exhibition game in a new edition of our Dodgers roundtable.
We’ve waited months for it, and it has finally arrived; Spring Training. In the coming weeks, trades could be made, and new players could join the squad. The rotation will be solidified and the outfield will start to take shape. What we do know is that Clayton Kershaw will make his 8th-straight Opening Day start and they’ll be facing their historic rivals, the San Francisco Giants.
At last, baseball has returned.
The Dodgers look strong headed into March, and it’s no surprise. The reigning NL Champs ended the season in defeat, but look to redeem themselves this summer.
There is plenty to look forward to this year, other than a potential return to the World Series. Approaching quickly is the Opening Series, of which the Dodgers will face off against the Giants. In June, they’ll play the Chicago Cubs 7 times in two weeks, where they are almost sure to face their old teammate, Yu Darvish.
Then there’s the series that the entirety of LA will be looking forward to; one that comes at the start of August. It’s the series that offers the Dodgers their best chance at redemption; it’s their chance to beat the team that beat them, the Houston Astros.
As we enter Spring, Jason Reed, Jamaal Artis, and I take a look at all there is to look forward to in the first month of the season.
