If the best players on the Los Angeles Lakers were captains drafting for the All-Star Weekend, who would they pick?

It’s an interesting thought because the top players on the team all bring something very different to the table. This should tell you that how they’d go about drafting fellow All-Stars for the break from the regular season will stand alone.

The players that will be the focus of this idea are Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, and Lonzo Ball. All of them have All-Star potential and remain a cornerstone to the future of the Los Angeles Lakers, at least for now.

Last season there was room and reason to consider trading Brandon Ingram if a deal for DeMarcus Cousins had gone through, but nothing came of it. Also, with Lonzo Ball’s fiasco of a father continuing to cause drama off the court, there’s no telling what could be the final straw for Magic Johnson and the front office.

And thankfully, no news has come to light that demonstrates them having any interest in moving Kuzma.

Should the Lakers keep this big three together, the rest of the NBA will suffer the consequences down the round. If these guys were in the position that LeBron James and Stephen Curry were at this year’s All-Star game, though, who would they pick?

I’ve put together a list of what I think their draft would look like with players from this season that were available to be selected and made the cut.
