Los Angeles Rams Mock Draft: Post Marcus Peters trade edition
By Jason Reed
With the 23rd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams select:
Heading into the offseason all signs pointed to the Los Angeles Rams working primarily on defense. The offense was stout last season and the minor holes on the offensive side of the ball were minor compared to the holes on the defensive side of the ball.
Heck, literally right before the Marcus Peters trade became official I wrote a piece about how cornerback is far more important in the draft than center. This was a reaction to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated having LA take center Billy Price in the first round in his mock draft.
Now, drafting Price obviously makes much more sense, so much more sense that even Will Brinson of CBS Sports added fuel to the flame. Brinson has Price landing on the LA Rams in his latest mock draft as well.
And as much as I want to be different and provide a different insight, you really can’t pass on Price now that Peters is in LA. John Sullivan did a great job under center for the Rams last season, however, he is an unrestricted free agent and is on the wrong side of 30.
Although 32 is not the most concerning age, the Rams cannot pass on an opportunity to get younger and arguably better. Price is the best center in this draft, as least by my evaluation, but is not good enough to get snagged before the 23rd overall pick.
