The latest Lakers rumors entail that veteran Corey Brewer is completing a buyout from the Los Angeles Lakers. Where are the most likely destinations for Brewer?

The Los Angeles Lakers are parting ways with veteran Corey Brewer. Per Marc Stein of The New York Times, Brewer and the Lakers are negotiating a buyout that would allow the veteran to join a title contending team (h/t LakersNation).

The buyout must be made official by Thursday, March 1, although signs indicate that the deal has already reached an agreement. Brewer will be free to sign with any contending team that wants his services. The Lakers open the door for guys like Josh Hart to get more minutes with the returning Lonzo Ball.

Brewer is not the most polarizing veteran available but he would be a nice fit for several different contending teams. His defense, leadership and durability would be a big asset off of the bench for any team. On January 11th Brewer’s 317 consecutive games streak was snapped when head coach Luke Walton decided not to play the veteran.

It is apparent how reliable and how impactful Brewer can be. Although he is only averaging 3.7 points in 12.7 minutes per game this season, his overall influence on younger talent makes him a valuable asset. Throw in a good defending skill set and Brewer becomes a target on several teams’ radars.

Who are the best fits for Brewer’s services?
