Corey Brewer potential landing spot: Oklahoma City Thunder

Don’t let the Thunder’s 35-27 record and the seventh-seeded spot in the standings fool you. Oklahoma City is one of the most talented teams in the league that has experienced some hiccups along the way. Although many people may not see them as legitimate threats, the Thunder can beat any team in a seven-game series when they are hot.

One of the biggest losses for the Oklahoma City Thunder this losing Andre Roberson. The Thunder lost Roberson to a ruptured patellar tendon in late January. Roberson served as the defensive specialist for the Thunder and OKC is 6-7 since the injury.

Paul George’s defense and move to shooting guard has cushioned the blow some. However, the ripple effect that it has made on the rest of the roster has been apparent.

This makes Brewer a perfect fit for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Brewer does not have to start for the Thunder but can come off of the bench at shooting guard or small forward as a primary sixth-man. He may not be that talented offensively, but neither was Roberson. And really, with Russell Westbrook, George and Carmelo Anthony, they do not need Brewer to score.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN echoed this thought that the Thunder have become front-runners for Brewer’s services.

Although Brewer may not be an elite defender anymore, he does bring a much-needed dynamic that has been missing since Roberson’s injury.
