New England Patriots

Since hearing the news that the Rams were ready to part ways with Tavon Austin the first team that popped into my head was the New England Patriots. Head coach Bill Belichick loves shifty receivers that he can play in weird schemes to confuse opposing defenses. Austin just adds to an already deep receiver core.

Dan Parzych of Ramblin’ Ram echoes these thoughts as he ranks New England as the best landing spot for Austin next season. It simply makes sense. While the Patriots do not need Tavon Austin, if anyone is going to get the most out of Austin it is going to be Belichick.

Thus, if I am Tavon Austin, I am praying that the Patriots give up a seventh-round pick for me that way I can head to Foxborough and catch passes from Tom Brady. The Patriots would find some sort of way to best utilize Austin. His career really could be revived.

I am not entirely sure if I see the Patriots making that move, though. New England already has the likes of Brandin Cooks, a returning Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan and Phillip Dorsett. There is a hole to fill in Danny Amendola, though, and perhaps that could be filled with Tavon Austin.
