Nigel Bradham:

As previously mentioned, the lack of depth and athleticism at linebacker really held back the Chargers from having one of the best defenses in football. In fact, it was a major factor as to why the team had one of the worst run defenses in the entire league.

The team now has the perfect opportunity to fix this ailment to their roster, and that is pursuing Philadelphia Eagle’s linebacker, Nigel Bradham.

Bradham is a very reliable tackler at the outside linebacker position, but his best quality is his coverage prowess. Bradham is one of the best coverage linebackers in the league, something that is vital to any 4-3 outside linebacker, and especially to one playing for Gus Bradley.

Often times Bradley gets creative with his pressures on defense, leaving a linebacker in coverage on a receiver or tight end on the inside. This resulted in many big gains for opposing offenses, as the talent the team had last season, such as starting outside linebacker Kyle Emmanuel, simply could not cover as well as they needed to. Bradham can fill this role perfectly.

The team will for sure draft someone to play alongside Denzel Perryman, but if they also sign Bradham, they will end up giving themselves very good depth with their linebacking core, something they desperately need.
