10. John Collins

  • 10.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.1 blocks, 0.6 steals

John Collins has flown under the radar in such a deep NBA Draft class that his production has not been in the spotlight. Playing on the Atlanta Hawks in such a small basketball market has also contributed to that. However, if you were unaware, Collins has crafted a very solid rookie year that just cracks the top ten.

Collins has proven to be a solid big man for the Hawks, providing a double-double threat on a nightly basis. Collins’ seven double-doubles are the seventh most among Eastern Conference power forwards this season.  That is also the second-best mark among rookie power forwards in the Eastern Conference.

Collins can blossom into a 17-20 point a night scorer and potentially even a consistent 10 rebound a night guy. His 31.8 three-point percentage could use some work with today’s reliance on the stretch-four, but it is not bad and shows great signs of promise moving forward.

Collins is also a great rim protector for the Hawks, averaging over one block per game, the fourth-best mark among power forwards in the Eastern Conference and the sixth-best mark among power forwards in the entire NBA.

John Collins has been solid for the Atlanta Hawks this season. Although he has not yet brought a game-changing dynamic, Collins set up for a nice NBA future.
