4. Kyle Kuzma

Finally! A Laker on this list. Kyle Kuzma clocks in as the fourth-best rookie this NBA season, which may surprise a lot of people. The 27th overall selection won a lot of fans over early in the season after setting himself up to be the best sleeper of this NBA Draft class. The hype has now died down, but people still love Kyle Kuzma.

And they should, Kuzma emerged as a huge surprise for the Los Angeles Lakers, who were already deep at power forward with both Julius Randle and Larry Nance Jr. in the picture. At the time, drafting Kuzma seemed to be a depth move to prepare the Lakers to trade Randle. Ironically, it was Nance that was traded.

Still, Kuzma’s role on the Los Angeles Lakers seemed to be to get minutes behind Brandon Ingram at small forward. Then Kuzma thrived in the NBA Summer League. That bled over to the NBA Preseason. Before you know it, Kuzma was scoring 20 a night and was entering himself into the starting discussion.

Kuzma has been very versatile for the Lakers this season. Whether is coming off of the bench, starting, playing the four or playing the three, Kuzma has been great.
