LA Rams trade target: WR Martavis Bryant

In tagging LaMarcus Joyner, the Rams now have an issue on their hands with Sammy Watkins. Watkins recently struck a three-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, ending his Rams tenure after just one season.

Although Watkins’ took a step back in terms of his role in the offense, he still was arguably the most gifted receiver of the bunch. Watkins was not on the field often, but when he was, he made the most of it. Watkins’ eight receiving touchdowns led the team last season.

That is production that the Rams are going to need to address externally. While Jared Goff does still have Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp at his disposal, there is no viable option to fill in for Watkins. Josh Reynolds is too green and Pharoh Cooper is nothing more than a special teams specialist.

One (of two) receiving options for LA to pursue via trade is Martavis Bryant. There were rumblings that the Steelers were looking to trade Bryant. Although the team ultimately denied those reports, the seeds have been planted for a possible trade.

With just one year remaining on his contract, Pittsburgh would be smart to shift the focus primarily to Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster while getting draft picks out of Bryant.
