LA Rams trade target: WR Brandon LaFell

Brandon LaFell is a very similar trade target to Martavis Bryant. Although there have not been any significant rumblings of the Bengals trading LaFell, it would not be surprising to see the Rams show interest in the Cincinnati receiver. LaFell would be able to bring what Watkins brought to the table and would be Goff’s second wideout option behind Robert Woods.

Some have speculated that LaFell could be cut by the Bengals in favor of younger receivers on the roster. Instead of cutting LaFell, the Bengals could strike a deal with the Rams.

LaFell is also a free agent after this season, thus, the Bengals would be better-pressed to go with youth and part ways with LaFell. The Bengals are in no situation to win anyways, so getting two sixth-round picks in this year’s draft as well as a draft pick in next year’s draft is a fair trade-off for LaFell.

Last season, LaFell caught 52 passes for 548 yards and three receiving touchdowns. These are not the most mind-boggling numbers, however, his six-foot-two frame gives Goff another deep threat to throw to. LaFell would be really productive in the red zone for the Rams, especially if he is taking snaps alongside Kupp and Woods.

This trade is not the most ground-breaking and would not make the Rams Super Bowl favorites. However, it is a solid acquisition to help sew up the little holes that the roster does have.
