5. Kyle Kuzma

While Kyle Kuzma only cracks the fifth spot on this list, it is a huge testament to his impressive rookie season to not only be in the conversation with Hall of Fame players but to statistically have a better rookie season than three-time NBA Champion James Worthy.

Of course, there is no guarantee that Kuzma will have a Hall of Fame career. That is a very lofty ceiling to place on a kid that is barely getting accustomed to the NBA. However, Kuzma is, at the very least, planting the seeds to have multiple all-star berths and potentially NBA Championships on his resume when he hangs the sneakers up.

Kuzma is averaging 15.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. The product of the University of Utah recently cracked the Lakers’ top-five rookie scoring list. Kuzma will likely go down as the fifth-best scoring rookie in Lakers’ history, as he would need to average 29 points per game the remaining nine games to surpass number four on the list.

To add to that, Kuzma became the first Lakers’ rookie since Magic Johnson to post consecutive 20-10 games after scoring 20 points alongside 11 rebounds against the Pistons on Monday.

Kyle Kuzma has been nothing short of sensational for the Los Angeles Lakers in his rookie season. Although he only cracks the fifth-spot on this list, he has far exceeded the bar that was placed on him prior to the season.
