1. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope potential fit: Philadelphia 76ers

The fruits of the process are finally being showcased for the Philadelphia 76ers. After years of mediocrity as one of the worst teams in the league, these Philadelphia 76ers are scary good. While they still may be a year or two away from serious contention, especially with Joel Embiid‘s recent injury, the 76ers created the blueprint for the Lakers to follow.

Heck, as it currently stands the 76ers have another lottery pick in the draft as they own the Lakers’ first-round pick. Right now, that is good enough for the 11th-overall pick. With a deep draft class, the 76ers can add a solid prospect to their already solid young core of Ben Simmons, Embiid, Markelle Fultz and Dario Saric.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is a perfect fit for the 76ers on a two-year deal. Out of every team in the league, the 76ers will likely be the team willing to offer Caldwell-Pope the largest contract. While it may not be in the $18 million range, Caldwell-Pope could land a two-year, $20 million deal with the team.

J.J. Redick is set to hit free agency after signing a one-year, $23 million contract with Philly prior to the season. While the 76ers may simply look to re-sign the veteran, if not, Caldwell-Pope becomes a perfect replacement.

The 76ers would be helped by Caldwell-Pope’s defense whether it is in the first or second unit. Philly has Simmons and Fultz to distribute, Robert Covington and Joel Embiid to space the floor and can add an above-average NBA defender in Caldwell-Pope.
