Wide receiver: Anthony Miller

The Los Angeles Chargers are pretty thin when it comes to drafting great, long-term, wide receivers. Most of the team’s leaders in receptions and receiving yards are either tight ends or wide receivers that were drafted by a different team and joined the Chargers at a later date.

Thus, we have to go all the way down to the guy with the seventh-most receiving yards in team history to find the best draft pick. That pick was Anthony Miller, who was selected with the 15th overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft.

Miller did not have a long-term career with the Chargers. Miller played in San Diego for six seasons from 1988 to 1993 before finishing his career with the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys. In his six seasons with the Chargers, Miller was selected to four Pro Bowls; 1989, 1990, 1992 and 1993. He added another Pro Bowl with the Broncos in 1995.

In total, Miller had 5582 receiving yards as a Charger, the seventh-most in franchise history and the fourth-most among wide receivers. Miller also had 37 receiving touchdowns, good enough for seventh-most in franchise history.

Ultimately, the decision came down between Miller and Vincent Jackson. Miller, just narrowly, has the edge over Jackson.
