1. Drew Lock, QB, Missouri

Some thought that the Los Angeles Chargers were going to go the route of the quarterback in the first round and pick up Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson. If Derwin James was not on the board, the Chargers very well could have done that as Jackson would have likely been the best fit for the team.

However, that was not the case and the Chargers are waiting another year to pick the eventual successor to Philip Rivers. Rivers is likely in for two seasons minimum, four seasons max, so finding a quarterback to sit behind him and learn is important.

Right now, the number one quarterback prospect heading into the 2019 NFL Draft is none other than Missouri’s Drew Lock, at least according to Walter Football.

Lock is built nearly identical to Rivers. Standing just one inch shorter than him at six-foot-five, Lock had a near identical frame and looks like a true quarterback. His awareness and presence in the pocket give him extreme upside.

Lock, though, has the same downfalls as Josh Allen had this year, just less exaggerated. He loves to sling the football and has a cannon for an arm, however, he can be inaccurate at times.

Lock can learn to develop better decision making and timing learning under Rivers, who loves to sling around deep passes as well.
