Several different superstars have been connected to the Los Angeles Lakers and the summer of 2019, creating several different potential superstar pairings.

The Los Angeles Lakers are notorious for having superstars play under the bright lights of LA. Some of the best names to ever do it have suited up for the Lakers; Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy, Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant all have played on the Lakers.

All of those names are top-25 players all-time, with the only fringe player being James Worthy, who is in the National Basketball Association Hall of Fame.

Right now, the Lakers are breeding a new crop of stars that can hopefully lead the team back to the promised land in a few seasons. Brandon Ingram leads the way with the highest ceiling with Lonzo Ball, Julius Randle and Kyle Kuzma all having all-star potential.

As great as these four are and as high as the ceiling is with this young core, the Lakers are still looking to add one, or even two, superstars this summer.

This plan has been outlined for a year now and the Lakers have not done anything to stop it. The front office was willing to part ways with young guys D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. to open up $61 million in cap space.

The Los Angeles Lakers have the perfect young core, now, the team just needs to add the finishing touches. Three possible scenarios have emerged for the Lakers, each of which has its own great duo.

Let’s rank them from the worst to the best.
