2. How much do the Lakers value Brandon Ingram?

This value is not the same monetary value that is tied around Julius Randle heading into the offseason. Instead, it will become clear during the offseason how much the Los Angeles Lakers value Brandon Ingram as the center of the franchise moving forward.

The one concerning thing about all of the superstar speculation heading into this offseason has been the prominence of the small forward position. Granted, the team could move LeBron to power forward or Paul George to shooting guard, but it has to get to Ingram in some sense.

Plus, being connected with Kawhi Leonard is perhaps the most telling rumor. In that trade, the Lakers would undoubtedly have to give up Ingram. And while it is unclear if the Lakers ever even considered that idea, it could be a sign that the Lakers do not see Ingram as the center of the organization.

What the Lakers do this offseason is going to be telling on the assessment of Ingram. If the team does nothing, and only adds depth pieces, it will undoubtedly show confidence in Ingram and the young core moving forward.

If the team gets a superstar, it will all depend on how Ingram is utilized. If it is just one star that is acquired, the Lakers may value Ingram as a second scoring option. But, if two stars are brought in, it is hard to argue Ingram’s case.
