4. How valuable is the Lakers’ young core to other NBA stars?

Aside from any potential off-court luxuries that may intrigue a superstar, the Los Angeles Lakers’ young core is the main driving point for any star to want to come to the Lakers. Not only would a superstar be set to win now, they would be set up for years to come as the team would only grow and get better around him.

The Philadelphia 76ers are a great example of how quick a young core can turn into a title contending core. While it is a long shot, that could even be next season for the Lakers’ young core. They definitely have the talent.

Based on what happens with the available stars this offseason will determine how important a young core like LA’s is to a superstar that is budding his options. If LeBron James opts to stay in Cleveland, his hometown narrative is obviously more important. If he goes to a team like the Rockets, he obviously wants established stars.

Heck, even if the Lakers get a star there are still some decisions on what to be made with the young core. Perhaps LeBron James wants to play in LA but wants to blow up the young core for established stars.

Personally, I think this Lakers’ core is too valuable to mess with. We will see how the superstars of the NBA evaluate it this summer.
