The Los Angeles Chargers must prove that they are viable dark horses for the Super Bowl in 2018. With that are five players that also have a lot to prove.

The Los Angeles Chargers are the scariest NFL team that nobody seems to be talking about this offseason. The Chargers did not make any splashy moves or headlines. Instead, the front office stayed within themselves and added pieces only where pieces were needed; which was the best possible strategy to have.

The team needed help at center so the front office went out and signed Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey. Los Angeles also needed help stopping the run, so the team turned to the NFL Draft to add pieces. Tre Boston was a free agent, so LA landed the steal of the draft in Derwin James with the 17th overall selection.

Now, an already great Chargers team looks stellar heading into next season.

Although the team did go 9-7 last year, they far outplayed what the record indicates. Some bad coaching decisions from a rookie head coach and some muffed kicks kept the Chargers from winning 11,12 or even 13 games last season.

With last season under their belt, the Chargers are going to be much better in handling said situations. With the best edge-rushers in football and one of the best secondaries, passing against LA is going to be hard. And of course, with Philip Rivers and the surplus of weapons around him, the offense is going to be putting up numbers.

The Los Angeles Chargers are the team with the most to prove next season. On the roster are five players that have a lot to prove individually. Here are those players.
