DeAndre Jordan is an interesting potential trade target for the Los Angeles Lakers and acquiring him would be absolutely genius.

The Los Angeles Lakers are going to need help at center next season. As great as Julius Randle played in the hybrid power forward/center role, he does not have great size for a center. With Brook Lopez hitting the open market, and not receiving much playing time on the Lakers, it is doubtful that he will return to LA.

The LA team, the Clippers, are in the exact opposite boat. The Clippers definitely have a great center in DeAndre Jordan but have no long-term commitments from him. Jordan, who has a player option this offseason, will likely opt into his deal to make $24 million in his last year in LA.

However, Jordan enough is not enough to contend for a title. With Blake Griffin and Chris Paul both being traded, it is understandable to think that Jordan could be next.

Which creates a match made in heaven for the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers. Gil Alcaraz of Hoops Habit even thinks that Jordan could be the piece to lure in LeBron James. All of a sudden, DeAndre Jordan looks more important to the Lakers than he does the Clippers.

There are no guarantees that a trade would happen, that Jordan will opt back into his deal or that the Lakers will even want to pursue him. However, if all of those things are the case, here are three reasons why trading for Jordan would be absolutely genius by the Lakers.
