Happy Mother’s Day! The Los Angeles Dodgers look to give every mom the perfect gift of not getting swept by the worst team in the National League!

As you can tell by the sarcasm in the header, we are not too happy here at LA Sports Hub with the recent performance of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Maybe we have too much fan in us. I mean, we are part of “Fan”Sided for a reason.

Ok, that was a bit corny and off topic. The Los Angeles Dodgers head into Sunday’s afternoon game trying to avoid being swept by the Cincinnati Reds. What was originally viewed as a good series to rebound has turned into a sad reminder of the current state of the Dodgers.

It has been pretty hard for us to get our streaks going in our Dodgers Beat the Streak series.

Saturday’s picks:

I will admit, I was a little too upset at the Dodgers and had a pretty satirical pick for my streak on Saturday. Sick and tired of the lack of offense, I picked starting pitcher Ross Stripling to get a hit. Unsurprisingly, Stripling went 0-2 with two strikeouts. I was going to pick Cody Bellinger, but I did not want to copy Sarah.

Bellinger only had one hit on Saturday but it was enough to extend Sarah’s streak as well as put the Dodgers on the board; he hit a solo home run in the third inning. He also bunted a 3-0 pitch straight back to the pitcher in the ninth inning, so there is that.

Sarah’s pick (Current streak: one): Cody Bellinger

My pick for today is, once again, Cody Bellinger. I think that, after last night, Bellinger is going to get hot. I think that he’s has had plenty of chances at the plate to really boost his stats and help the Dodgers offense and whether it’s his doing, or the pitchers expertise, he hasn’t been playing like we all know he can.

I think that, with the exception of Turner, Bellinger is the strongest, most consistent players in this team. By putting him in the lineup everyday, Roberts is giving Bellinger plenty of chances. He just needs to take advantage of it.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: zero): Matt Kemp

My mom wanted to go to a Dodger game for Mother’s Day so I will be present to potentially see the team get swept by the Reds. My mom loves Matt Kemp, I have never seen her more excited about baseball than she was when I told her that the Dodgers reacquired Kemp.

In honor of my mom, I am going with Kemp, who has been the Dodgers best hitter this season. Last time I went to a game with my family, while Kemp was a Dodger, he delivered a walk-off home run against the Philadelphia Phillies in the 12th inning.

Next: Dodgers are missing half of the team

Outside of Justin Turner’s home run in game one of the World Series, that was the best sports moment I have ever been present for. C’mon Kemp, make my mom proud and extend my streak!
