Since the beginning of 2018, the Los Angeles Dodgers have looked wildly unrecognizable from their 2017 selves. So today, in a new edition of our Dodgers roundtable, we ask, and answer the question; is it time to panic?

It’s no secret, in fact, it’s pretty clear; this is not the Los Angeles Dodgers team we have come to know. This is not the team we expect. You could say that it’s fine for the Dodgers to play some turbulent baseball, that this happens to every team at some point. I have to agree, but counter with this; Los Angeles is a big city, with 10 big league teams that span across the five biggest sports in the world.

Los Angeles is a city that expects to see strong baseball being played and, so far this season, the Dodgers have not been strong, or great. They’ve been, for lack of a better word, average.

So what’s the problem? What exactly have the Dodgers failed to overcome thus far? What has lead to this great and devastating fall?

There are many answers to the many questions the Dodgers have yet to answer. One is that maybe they’re dealing with one of baseball’s harshest occurrences; undefinable statistics. Things like team chemistry, the state of the squad on a given day and, possibly the most common of all of these, bad luck.

So, rather than dwelling on the unanswerable questions the Dodgers are facing, we look at those that are. This week, Jason, Jamaal, Redan and I talk about pressing the panic button in a new edition of our Los Angeles Dodgers roundtable.
