2.) Is it too early to start worrying about the Dodgers missing the postseason?

Jason:

Absolutely not. The whole “it is still early” cliche is just a coping mechanism for fans that do not want to believe that the season is over. The Dodgers are 40 games in. We are one-fourth a way through the season. It is obviously a big deal.

Jamaal:

Can’t start worrying about the Dodgers missing the playoffs until the All-Star break, despite not being very good, they’re still only 7 games back in the west. They have come back from bigger leads these past few years. It would be nice if they started winning but their postseason window isn’t close yet.

Redan:

I don’t think it’s time to worry about the Dodgers not making the postseason. But, as I stated above, they do need to start putting wins together and get to the .500 mark soon. They are already 8.5 games behind the first place Diamondbacks. There are a lot of division games to be played, so there is plenty of time to make up ground.

The Dodgers will soon need to worry though if they start losing to lesser opponents like the San Diego Padres and the Cincinnati Reds. The Dodgers are better than these teams. The Dodgers need to start showing it. With games against the Miami Marlins coming up, these are absolutely a must-win to start going on a winning and beating better teams.

Sarah:

I do think it’s a little early to start worrying about the Dodgers missing postseason. That said, I think that once a majority of Dodger nation starts to worry about the Dodgers sitting out this October, the chance of them coming back from whatever deficit they’re facing will be pretty slim. I think the Dodgers are more than capable of making the postseason, just not if they keep playing like they have been.

There’s plenty of time for the Dodgers to bounce back from their recent struggles. We don’t know what the rest of this season will look like for the Dodgers, nor do we know what it will look like for the three teams that stand between the Dodgers and first place.
