Los Angeles Dodgers: Five players of the week, May 18
By Jason Reed
1. Justin Turner

Weekly stats: .462 AVG, 5 RBI, 1 R
Justin Turner literally played just three games this entire week and still did enough to warrant being the player of the week for the Los Angeles Dodgers. After his performance, Dodgers fans were reminded exactly what they were missing out in the beginning of the season and what Turner can bring to the table moving forward.
While there still is a huge hurdle to overcome without Corey Seager after falling in this early hole, having Turner back is going to be key if LA is going to eventually make a run. Turner came through in multiple big spots on Thursday that, before he returned, would have simply added to the stockpile of runners left on base by the Dodgers.
Turner had a 3-4 performance with two doubles while driving in five RBIs. He and Matt Kemp, who is not on this list because he was extremely cold the entire week, produced nearly all of the offense on Thursday; accounting for six of the seven runs of the runs and six of the ten hits.
There is still some work to do on the rest of the Dodgers offense but having Justin Turner back is going to be a huge help, especially if he can still deliver multi-hit games on a regular like he did on Friday.

Turner had the best performance by a Dodgers’ hitter thus far this season and easily earned himself the player of the week honors. Heck, the team literally could not win without him.
