5. SF Trevor Ariza

Trevor Ariza was on the Los Angeles Lakers a lot longer of a time ago than Isaiah Thomas was. Ariza last suited up in the purple and gold when he helped the Lakers win the first of back-to-back NBA Championships in the 2008-2009 season. Now, Ariza finds himself helping James Harden and Chris Paul try and overthrow the Golden State Warriors.

Ariza is set to be a free agent and looks to be an odd man out next season. LeBron James to the Rockets rumors have been circulated, which would effectively take the roster spot of Ariza. If this were to happen, the Lakers may need to add another forward to the mix to bring in behind Brandon Ingram and Paul George (who would play shooting guard).

Ariza is a great option to be that guy as he enters the later half of his career. Ariza has plenty of experience that could help this young team grow and would be a great scorer off the bench for the Lakers. Like those before him on this list, Ariza would be a lock for double-digit points on a nightly basis off of the bench.

Ariza does have LA ties and may want to end his career in the place he calls home. He went to high school in LA and attended UCLA. Lakers general manager, Rob Pelinka, was Ariza’s agent as well.

All the ducks are lined up for Ariza to come home to the Lakers. Hopefully, like he did early in his career, he can provide towards an eventual NBA Championship run.
