While the offense was pretty bad for the Los Angeles Angels the last week, the starting pitching was magnificent as the Halos received a few great starts out of their starting pitching. Of the starters included on this list is Jaime Barria, who had a great outing against the defending champion Houston Astros despite not being all that effective on the season.

Barria took the bump against the Astros on Tuesday, which ended up being the first loss of the four-game losing streak. Barria did all he could to get the Angels a win, as he exited the game after the seventh inning with the Angels up 3-1.

That is when the bullpen imploded and gave up the two-run lead that Barria had worked hard for. Jose Alvarez let up three runs in just a third of an inning thrown in the eighth after Jose Altuve delivered a one out, three-run double. Another run in the ninth and the Astros walked away with a 5-3 victory.

That does not take away from the rookie’s strong outing against the Astros. As great as the outing was, though, Barria’s peers in the starting rotation outdid him in their respective starts.
