The Los Angeles Lakers may be star hunting this summer and a new star has potentially joined the trading block in Karl-Anthony Towns.

The NBA Playoffs are not even over yet the typical speculation around the NBA offseason is already starting to heat up. For the Los Angeles Lakers, speculation around this summer has dating back over a year. In that time span, there have been countless stars across the NBA connected to the team.

There may be another superstar added to that list, as Karl-Anthony Towns may be on the trade block this coming summer.

According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe on Friday’s episode of The Lowe Post, Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves are not in a good place internally (h/t Bleacher Report).

This does not guarantee that anything will happen, but the Timberwolves are an interesting team to watch this summer. Andrew Wiggins reportedly already had internal frustrations during the season and Jimmy Butler has a player option following next season.

Needing a center, the Los Angeles Lakers become an interesting partner for the Minnesota Timberwolves to consider. Although there are not any strong connections yet, the Lakers are in pursuit of superstars and Towns is one of the best three centers in the NBA.

In fact, the Los Angeles Lakers would be silly not to pursue Towns this summer. Here are three reasons why the front office should.
