3. Los Angeles Chargers at Los Angeles Rams — Week 3 — Sept. 23

The Los Angeles Chargers have their first ever intercity regular season battle against the Los Angeles Rams next season. The Bolts head across town to go to battle with the new-look Rams in the third week of the season. At this point, the years of both teams will still be up for grabs; this game serving as a potential table setter for both teams.

Looking ahead at this game four months in advance, the Los Angeles Rams are the favorites. The Rams added a ton of talent last offseason, turning an already solid team into a scary, dynasty-like, team. Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Ndamukong Suh and Brandin Cooks headline a very good offseason for the Rams front office.

However, the Chargers are no slouches and may be able to steal a win, which likely would be the Rams’ first on the season. While the team is immensely talented, the egos on the defense should leave some worried and the defense may crumble the first time it faces adversary.

The pass-rush and secondary is going to naturally give Jared Goff problems, leaving the bulk of the workload to Todd Gurley. And while Gurley is a sensational running back, the Chargers need to only contain him to put themselves in a position to win.

It is going to be a tough game and is going to be the Chargers biggest challenge of the season to that date. A win here, assuming the Chargers take care of business in the first two weeks, would cement the Chargers as true playoff contenders.
