The Los Angeles Dodgers’ four-game winning streak was snapped by the Colorado Rockies and our hitting streaks remained at zero.

The Los Angeles Dodgers had a vintage 2018 Dodgers performance after losing on an error by Chase Utley with only three total hits in the entire game. Two of which came from Matt Kemp, the other coming off of a solo shot by Max Muncy.

Of course, Walker Buehler delivered seven lights out innings, only allowing one run on two hits; the one run coming off of a solo home run as well. As great as the winning streak was, the Dodgers bats have still struggled at times, especially those of some of the better hitters on the team.

Thus, for the second consecutive game, we both failed to get a hit after posting favorable hitting streaks the game before. When only two players get a hit, your chances of successfully selecting one are pretty slim.

Yesterday I went with Cody Bellinger and Sarah went with Justin Turner; both coming off of 0-5 performances the game before. You would think that they were due for a hit after 0-5 performances. But they weren’t. They both went 0-4 and Bellinger struck out twice.

Sarah’s pick — Current streak 0: Matt Kemp

My pick for tonight’s game against the Rockies is Matt Kemp. Kemp has been solid pretty much all season. His defense in the outfield is second to none on the team, with the exception of Yasiel Puig. His hitting isn’t what it was but it’s definitely better than any of us expected.

I do, however, think that Kemp could still be traded. He’s far and away the best trade piece this team has but the question isn’t whether or not the Dodgers should trade him, but if they can afford to at all.

The offense is just now starting to get hot and offensive production is what the Dodgers need now more than anything. I believe that tonight Kemp may just prove why he should stay in a Dodger uniform for the entire season.

Jason’s pick — Current streak 0: Justin Turner

I am going to stand on this Justin Turner hill until I eventually get a hit out of him. Although he has let us down the last two games, with a streak of zero, it makes sense to pick Turner. The chances of him going hitless in three straight contests is very small, thus, the chances of me going hitless in three straight games is also small.

Of course, knowing my luck, Turner will end up going 0-4 with every single hit being a robbed home run. That has just been how things are going this season and quite frankly would not surprise me one bit.

However, I am still confident in Turner to deliver a base knock. Usually, I try and predict what kind of hit it will be. Today, I just want the Dodgers to get more than three hits. Anything helps.
