Hunter Henry tearing his ACL in practice is a huge hit to the Los Angeles Chargers. However, the team still has time to find a possible replacement for Henry.

The Los Angeles Chargers are without one of their passing targets in a year that was filled with promise.

It was announced on Tuesday that tight end Hunter Henry suffered a torn ACL in practice, putting him out of action for six to nine months. Although the best-case scenario has him returning for the final games of the season, chances are that Chargers fans will not see Henry again until the 2019 season.

The Los Angeles Chargers do not have the greatest depth behind Henry. Next in line is Virgil Green, who the team signed this offseason. While Green is a solid NFL tight end, his value is in run blocking. Not as a legitimate threat in the passing game.

After that, the Chargers’ depth chart is filled with inexperienced, young players that really have no expectations around them. While there may be a diamond in the rough somewhere, it may also be time for the Chargers to consider a one-year replacement.

If one of the young talents break out then great. However, the team cannot afford to take that big of a risk in a season that is so promising.

While there is still a lot of factors to consider, we have compiled three one-year replacements that the Los Angeles Chargers should consider.
