The Los Angeles Chargers enter the 2018 season as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. In every contender are several players that could win NFL awards.

This is the most exciting year of football for the Los Angeles Chargers since the team fielded Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates and LaDainian Tomlinson all at the same time.

This is the best Chargers’ team that we have seen in quite some time and has entered Super Bowl contender quality, despite missing the playoffs last season and finishing just 9-7. The roster is complete, wholesome and immensely talented. Not just that, the front office has built a unit that has all the qualities of a Super Bowl-winning team.

There is youth, there is leadership. There is balance on both sides of the ball. Philip Rivers and the offense can torch opposing defenses and the pass-rush and secondary is a nightmare for any quarterback they face.

It is very hard to find a huge hole in this Chargers’ roster. Last season, that hole was in the run defense. A (hopefully) full healthy season of Denzel Perryman along with second-round pick Uchenna Nwosu should help those worries.

Plus, it is still pretty hard to win games against a stellar pass defense. Even a mediocre run defense should be enough to propel the Chargers into the elite tier.

With all of this promise, there is destined to be a few players in the discussion for multiple NFL awards at the end of the season. In order from most likely to least, here are four Chargers that could win awards in 2018.
