The Los Angeles Dodgers finished the last week with a 4-3 record carried by one red-hot offensive showcase by a familiar face.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were one win away from a very solid week of play. Were the Dodgers to have won Thursday night’s contest over the Phillies, it would have marked four consecutive series wins for the Dodgers and given the team a respectable weekly record of 5-2.

However, the bats were not able to wake up on Thursday, resulting in a 2-1 loss against the Phillies to split the series at two games apiece. I guess that’ll happen to an offense when they square off against a hot Aaron Nola.

Despite having a somewhat successful week, the Los Angeles Dodgers did not have as many notable players as before. Pitching-wise, the Dodgers were great. However, offensively, there were only two bats that were really consistent enough to warrant making our third Dodgers’ players of the week.

5. Kenley Jansen

Kenley Jansen had yet another solid week on the bump to earn the fifth spot on this rotation. While he only had two saves on the week, Jansen was literally unhittable as he did not allow a single baserunner in the nine batters that he faced; striking out five of them.

I will admit, I did hop on the “What is wrong with Kenley Jansen?” bandwagon too soon. While I am typically fair in assessing players, I completely freaked out after Jansen had perhaps the worst start to 2018 imaginable. However, Jansen has bounced back and made me look like an idiot.

And I am perfectly fine with that.

While Jansen’s week does not really blow anyone away, it is hard to leave him off of this list when he literally did not allow a single baserunner. If it was a star-studded list, it would make sense to leave him off. However, this week, he earns his second-straight honor.
