2. Bringing LiAngelo Ball in will keep Lonzo Ball happy

This reason is a bit more trivial but could be extremely important down the line. If the Los Angeles Lakers sign LiAngelo Ball, chances are it will keep their point guard of the future, Lonzo Ball, happy with the organization and content to stay in Los Angeles.

If the team does not sign his brother, I’m sure Lonzo will continue to put in work to make the Lakers contenders again. This is not a “sign my brother or I won’t play” situation. However, bringing LiAngelo in will definitely build the relationship between Lonzo and the team for years to come.

The benefits of this might not come for years, but when it does come, it will all be worth it. At least giving LiAngelo and youngest brother LaMelo a chance at the league may convince Ball to re-sign with the Lakers when it is time for contract talks. Lonzo has already proven to be a great, well-rounded point guard. The Lakers are not going to want him to walk in several years.

Even better, bringing in LiAngelo may calm the storm around LaVar and his outrageous statements. While it seems unlikely that any superstar would pass on the Lakers because of LaVar, keeping him as quiet as possible should be in the Lakers’ best wishes.
