Q: Would you rather the Los Angeles Dodgers lose the World Series in heartbreaking fashion or miss the postseason entirely?

I would rather miss the postseason than watch the Dodgers lose the World Series in heartbreaking fashion.

Losing the World Series on a walk-off home run or an error would make me never want to watch sports again.

Never want to be in the same fan category as those 1986 Boston Red Sox or the 1993 Philadelphia Phillies fans.

The baseball playoffs have become such a grueling grind these days that losing a World Series in that kind of manner would just be excruciating. You sit through four-hour games in the run-up to a World Series only to have it fall apart on a single play or one inning that would just be cruel.

Also, as a baseball fan with the Dodgers out of the playoffs, I can just enjoy playoff games, No anxiety, no living and dying with every strike, ball, hit and out. Much more peace of mind watching other fans deal with that.

In this day and age of social media, losses are also harder to get over too. I swear there is always something to remind me that the Dodgers lost Game 7 of the 2017 World Series for months, and that game was essentially over after 2 innings.

If they were to lose in a much bigger way there would be no way to escape that. I’d rather they just miss the playoffs than being buried by some replay that I would already be playing in my head anyway.

I prove my point, as an Oakland (Las Vegas, formerly Los Angeles) Raiders fan I always enjoy the Super Bowl. I never have an expectation that they will make it there.
