The Los Angeles Lakers seemingly have big plans for the summer. There are some free agents the front office should steer clear of.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been rumored to be huge players in the 2018 offseason for over a year now. Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka have made it their duty to clear up cap space for this summer. Their master plan worked, the Los Angeles Lakers enter this summer with $61 million in practical cap space.

However, as a result of freeing up so much cap, the Lakers have some notable holes heading into the offseason. As it currently stands, the Los Angeles Lakers do not have a starting shooting guard or center and may even lose Julius Randle as a restricted free agent.

The only players that will have a surefire impact on next season are Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart. The rest of the impact players could potentially leave. Whoever else is on the roster has not proven to be an impact player.

Thus, while the Los Angeles Lakers are freeing up that money to sign a superstar, the front office will likely be busy in trying to fill the gaps that they created. With only one first-round pick, which is the 25th overall in the draft, the Lakers cannot resort strictly to the draft.

Several names are going to start getting connected to the Lakers because of these various needs. Some will be great, others will not. Here are four free agents that the Los Angeles Lakers should avoid at all costs this summer.
