The Los Angeles Lakers had some of the more interesting picks in the 2018 NBA Draft. Ultimately, these picks were telling of bigger storylines for the Lakers.

The anticipation around the 2018 NBA Draft led to some pretty high expectations for every NBA franchise, especially when it comes to Los Angeles Lakers fans.

It was not the selections that were so exciting for the Los Angeles Lakers, instead, it was the prospect that the Lakers could use their position in the draft to trade for a certain someone. That certain someone, as you probably already know, is Spurs superstar forward Kawhi Leonard.

Ultimately, that trade never happened as the San Antonio Spurs reportedly shut the door on any possible trade talks with the Los Angeles Lakers. While that may be a slight blow, the Lakers still have other superstars on their radar as well as the possibility to sign Leonard next summer.

And while that did that never happened, the Lakers were still able to add solid talent in the draft, even if it was not talent that many people expected. However, the Lakers front office has a knack for selecting players that they see something special in that others did not. See Kyle Kuzma.

More importantly, though, these selections were telling of a bigger picture around the Los Angeles Lakers. After a day to digest the draft, here is everything we learned about the Lakers from the 2018 NBA Draft.
