7. 1941: 100-54 (Lost World Series)

The 1941 Brooklyn Dodgers were four games worse than the 1942 Brooklyn Dodgers. However, since the 1941 Dodgers got the benefit of going to the World Series, you have to give them the edge when comparing the two years.

The two teams are virtually the same with only minor changes. 1942 presented a much similar outlook to 1941 and even produced more wins, however, good luck was on the Dodgers side in 1941.

The St. Louis Cardinals were still a threat to the Dodgers, however, they were unable to overcome their Brooklyn counterparts that season. St. Louis went 97-57, coming up just three games short.

Much like in 1942, the Yankees and Dodgers were evenly matched in 1941. The Yankees finished with just one more win than the Dodgers. However, in what has been a trend for most of the franchise’s history, the Yankees overcame the Dodgers in five games in the World Series.

1941 was the Dodgers third-best year in terms of winning percentage since changing the team’s name to the Dodgers. However, no World Series win limits this year to number seven on the list.
