2. Oakland Raiders

  • Quarterback depth chart: Derek Carr, Connor Cook, EJ Manuel

Earlier in his career, Derek Carr looked poise to led a new group of elite quarterbacks at the forefront of the NFL and was looking to put the Raiders back on the map after many years of hardships and defeat.

And while the sky is still the limit for Carr and he still is very talented, talented enough to be second on this list, he is no longer the figurehead for this new quarterback movement and is now getting forgotten about. Carson Wentz and Jared Goff are leading that forefront as Carr struggled last year after injuring his back the year prior.

Last season, Carr threw for 3496 yards with 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. While those numbers are not bad, they are nowhere close to the near 4000-yard seasons that Carr had the two years prior.

A fully healthy Carr should be able to get at least close to his old form and could flirt with 4000 yards once more with new target Jordy Nelson catching passes. However, solely based on his past performances, it is hard to rank Carr as the best quarterback in the AFC West.

Which leads way to the number one quarterback on this list, an honor Chargers’ fans definitely agree with.
