The NBA offseason is officially underway and the Los Angeles Lakers are looking for a big summer. Here are all the moves that would constitute a perfect summer.

For over a year, fans of the Los Angeles Lakers have been circling the summer of 2018 on their calendars as the summer that the Lakers turned the ship around. After so many years of success that came with Kobe Bryant‘s 20-year career, the Lakers have been in a downward spiral since.

Not that the Lakers have not been promising but the last five years have been the worst years in franchise history. The Lakers last made the NBA Playoffs in 2013. Los Angeles has not won a playoff series since 2012 and has not made it past the second round since winning the title in 2010.

For many teams a five-year playoff drought is not the worst thing in the world; plenty of teams undergo these cold stretches. However, for the Lakers, the last five years have fallen far short of expectations. It is time to go back to the Laker way.

That is why this summer is so important for the future of the Lakers. This is far from speculation, as well, as the Lakers opened up $61 million in practical cap space for this summer.

Magic Johnson even went as far as to say that he would step down from his role as President of Basketball Operations if the Lakers could not turn it around over the next two summers.

Whether or not this summer is merely an appetizer or a full dish is yet to be seen. However, we definitely have our idea on what a perfect summer would look like for the Lakers.
