3. San Francisco 49ers

The selection for who should be third and who should be second on this list was a really hard one to make. This entire division, especially the top three teams, is filled with elite-level quarterbacks that are all the faces of their respective franchises.

Thus, having to pick any one of these three guys as the third-ranked guy on this list simply seemed cruel. However, since we have to rank them in order, we have to give the third spot to the San Francisco 49ers, who are led by Jimmy Garoppolo at the quarterback position.

Garoppolo is one of the most hyped up quarterbacks in recent NFL history. Garoppolo came to the 49ers last season and won all five games as a starter. For a team that was projecting to be the number two pick in the 2018 NBA Draft that is great.

Garoppolo also won two games as the New England Patriots starting quarterback when Tom Brady served a four-game suspension for deflategate. Garoppolo enters the season undefeated as a starting quarterback and has turned a league-worst 49ers team into serious playoff contenders.

However, Garoppolo and the 49ers are going to have to put their money where their mouths are before we rank them higher in this list. As good as Garoppolo has been, the sample size is simply too small and the edge has to be given to proven season-long production in the division.
