The NFC West has two of the best running back cores in football and two with a lot of questions to answer. Where exactly then do the Los Angeles Rams rank?

The NFC West is most likely going to be a two-horse race between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams next season., However, it would not be surprising to see all four teams somewhat in the mix as the season goes along.

Each team has its own set of strong suits and weak areas with the Rams standing out as the obvious favorite to win the division. The Rams are great in virtually every aspect of their roster.

When it comes to running backs, the Rams and the NFC West have an easily distinguishable pecking order for who is the best and who is the worst.

Starting with the worst, here is the second installment of our NFC West rankings, running back edition.

4. Seattle Seahawks

The winners of our NFC West quarterback ranking are easily the worst team in the division when it comes to running backs. In fact, Russell Wilson may be the Seahawks’ best running back option and should take snaps at both positions.

All joking aside, the Seahawks really have no established great running backs and are relying on a rookie in Rashaad Penny to carry the load. Penny was good for San Diego State at the collegiate level, however, the Seahawks selected Penny far earlier than many expected. Walter Football had Penny as the seventh-best running back in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Behind Penny is two running backs that have been nothing more than depth pieces and have not proven much in their time in the NFL.

Chris Carson is heading into his sophomore season after rushing for 208 yards in his rookie season with no touchdowns. Mike Davis has been in the league for three years and has a combined 348 yards and one lone touchdown in that time.
