For the second straight Summer, the Los Angeles Lakers are attempting to win an NBA Summer League title; which has given us some stark takeaways.

The Los Angeles Lakers may have been unsuccessful in the last five years in the NBA regular season, but man, are the Lakers good when it comes to the NBA Summer League.

Last summer, Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball led a Lakers team full of rookies and sophomore year players to an NBA Summer League trophy. While at the end of the day that does not mean much, it showcased how well the Lakers were building the young talent on the roster.

This summer, even without Ball or Kuzma playing and Josh Hart being the main talent, the Lakers are storming their way through the tournament. At 5:30 PST the Lakers will be taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the semifinals and will take on the winner of the Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trailblazers in the finals.

Winning the title is not the most important thing to come out of Summer League, though. Instead, it is the storylines and things we can learn from the summer that really impact the Lakers moving forward.

Luckily, we have learned quite a lot from a group of guys that mostly will be in the G League this upcoming season. Here are the three biggest things we learned during the NBA’s invasion of Las Vegas.
