NFL:

Ok, the NFL is kind of tricky. The Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers do not have much experience back in Los Angeles. And while we could have included moves the teams made prior to coming back to LA, that would have defeated the purpose. Thus, these moves, although good, are significantly smaller than the others.

Los Angeles Rams: Andrew Whitworth (2017)

Andrew Whitworth was a huge pick-up for the Los Angeles Rams prior to the 2017 season and led a revamped offensive line to protect second-year quarterback Jared Goff wonderfully. Whitworth had one of his best seasons as a professional and was named an All-Pro for just the second time in his career.

Los Angeles’ big pick-ups this summer (Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Ndamukong Suh and Brandin Cooks) all have a chance to take this throne from Whitworth. However, none of which have even played a snap on the Los Angeles Rams.

Los Angeles Chargers: Tre Boston (2017)

So the Los Angeles Chargers have only been in Los Angeles for one season so this signing is understandably going to be pretty small. Not only is the one-year sample size tiny, the NFL has fewer big-name signings and trades than other leagues.

Thus, we really can only give this nod to Tre Boston, who won’t even be on the team in 2018. Boston was a huge surprise signing for the Chargers that excelled in the secondary and led the team with five interceptions. It was a breakout year for Boston, who is yet to sign with a new team. However, the Arizona Cardinals are a possibility.
