The Los Angeles Dodgers did it, Mannywood is back; Andrew Friedman and company struck gold on a deal for Orioles shortstop Manny Machado.

It took some time but the Los Angeles Dodgers officially announced that they have traded for four-time All-Star Manny Machado. In the transaction with the Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles will send five minor league prospects.

For weeks, the Dodgers were rumored to be in the lead in acquiring Machado, along with other contending teams the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers.

During Tuesday’s Major League Baseball All-Star game it was all but confirmed by most baseball writers that Machado was coming to LA for some prospects.

Early Wednesday morning the deal looked to hit a snag due to one of the prospects physical assessment but all of the concern was for not as official word came through for the team by 5 p.m. PST.

Let’s look at who are winners and losers in the trade.
