Los Angeles Rams NFC West Ranking: Pass catchers
By Jason Reed
3. Arizona Cardinals
- Top-four receivers: Larry Fitzgerald, Chad Williams, Christian Kirk, Brice Butler
- Top-two tight ends: Jermaine Gresham, Ricky Seals-Jones
Larry Fitzgerald is such an outlier when it comes to wide receivers in the NFL and he is ultimately what elevated the Arizona Cardinals from being the worst pass-catching team in this division. Fitzgerald is only getting better with age and is carving his path to Canton as well as being one of the greatest wide receivers of all-time.
Despite being 34 years old last season, Fitzgerald still made 109 receptions for 1156 yards and six receiving touchdowns. Not only is that incredible on its own, it is more incredible considering the interesting quarterback situation the Cardinals found themselves in last year.
Fitzgerald has been in the Pro Bown in every year except one since 2007 and has only missed three games in that span.
The Cardinals are not great behind Fitzgerald, however, they could do some damage with a good quarterback under center. Chad Williams is a young guy with a ton of upside as is rookie Christian Kirk.
Jermaine Gresham is a nice veteran presence that will be ok at tight end but will likely miss some time with an Achilles injury. Ricky Seals-Jones is another young guy that could blossom nicely next season.
Right now, most of the pass catchers on the Cardinals are unproven. However, if all goes to plan, they could blossom into quite the unit to take the torch from Fitzgerald moving forward.
