Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball has not built up the most impressive reputation after his rookie year. However, most of the criticism is unjustified.

One year ago point guard Lonzo Ball just finished tearing it up for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Ball looked like the best young point guard from a deep class and had a ton of hype surrounding him entering his rookie year.

Ball had been bred to be a Laker and seemed destined to be a Laker even while he was still with the UCLA Bruins. From Chino Hills High School to UCLA to the Lakers, Lonzo Ball epitomizes LA basketball and seemed to be the perfect center point of the rebuilding Lakers.

One year later and Ball has arguably become the least favorite of the young core and the first that most fans would be ok with trading. While this is not the case for every fan, the general consensus of Ball seems to put him under both Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma.

It does not help that his father continues to say outlandish things. LaVar Ball went from comedic to obnoxious with some of the things he has said and Lonzo Ball has paid the price.

After just one season in the NBA, having a negative opinion on Ball seems unjust. It is way to early to even start the bust discussion.

I would at least understand this side of the argument if Ball was looking like a legitimate bust, but he is not. Ball is very promising, yet for some reason, not every fan has bought in.

We have already told you why Ball is a great fit alongside LeBron James, here is why he is much better than you think.
