2. Samson Ebukam, LB

Samson Ebukam is coming off a mediocre rookie season that was up to par with his expectations heading into the league. And while Ebukam may not be some highly touted young talent, he is still going to see improvements in his game and his production next season that will put his name on notice throughout the league.

This is not the case for Ebukam improving because the pieces around him improved. While the Rams have improved the overall outlook of the defense, Ebukam has to improve because he now has a big role in a stripped linebacker unit.

The Los Angeles Rams parted ways with Robert Quinn and Alec Ogletree this offseason, which has left an already mediocre linebacker unit as one of the lightest in the NFL. There may have been hopes that Connor Barwin would re-sign, but the Rams did not seem interested as he just signed a contract with the New York Giants on Monday.

Ebukam is not likely going to get slotted in the starting outside linebacker role and year two is really going to make or break the rest of his career. If he can pass the test, Ebukam has a future of starting and success in the league.

If he flounders all season long, the Rams may go in a different direction next offseason and Ebukam may be nothing more than a depth option and a special team guy.

However, we think that Ebukam is going to really come into his own in his sophomore season and prove that he is worthy of a starter job.
