The Los Angeles Lakers hit the free agent jackpot by landing the best player on the planet, LeBron James. A title within the next two seasons is now guaranteed.

The Los Angeles Lakers have undergone a complete change of pace in a short 27 days this offseason, all centered around the team’s acquisition of LeBron James.

A year ago, the Lakers were a young team with some promise that was years away from being legitimate playoff contenders. Now, with James and other additions, the Lakers are locked for a postseason berth and should make some noise once the time hits.

Alongside James, the Lakers have added the likes of Rajon Rondo, Michael Beasley, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee on one-year deals. While it is not the most eye-opening signings, the focus is obviously still on the young core and these veterans will serve as good mentors and role players.

However, not many are taking the Lakers as serious contenders, even with James, who carried a much worse Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Finals.

While the target is still on the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers are definitely dangerous and have a master plan that inevitably will lead to a championship.

In fact, the Lakers are set up nicely to win the title in the next two years, no matter what happens in year one. Whether the Warriors or Lakers win the title next year, I can promise you that the Lakers will have banner number 17 by 2020.
